designed 1933, executed circa 1955 by cabinetmaker Rud. Rasmussens, demountable structure of stained ash with leather upholstery and brass fittings
32½ in. (83 cm.) high, 23 in. (58.5 cm.) wide, 23 in. (58.5 cm.) deep
both chairs with printed paper label 'Rud. Rasmussens Snedkerier, 40 Nørrebrogade, København', and with pencil numbers '24672' and '24549' respectively (under seat) (2)

Lot Essay

Klint's design for a demountable armchair, executed in meticulous detail and with carefully selected materials by cabinetmaker Rasmussen, was based on a generic folding campaign chair distributed by the British furniture retailer Maples & Co.
