Goblet-form raised on a trumpet foot, the body repoussé and chased with birds, flowers and foliage, one side engraved with a crest and motto in rococo cartouche flanked with military trophies, the other side engraved with a presentation inscription, the interior gilt, marked below rim
8¾ in. (22.5 cm.) high; 27 oz. (842 gr.)
The inscription reads: Presented/by the/Noblemen, Gentlemen,/and Inhabitants of the/Town and Vicinity of New Market/To Captn. Keappock, 22nd Regt. of Foot/In Testimony of the high sense/they entertain of his /Gallant Conduct/in attacking & defeating an/armed Body of 3000 Insurgents/with Thirty Men/on the 25th day of Jan. 1822
