Lot Essay

The Ocean Lux was built by Hall and Co. of Aberdeen in 1930. Having been requisitioned by the Admiralty at the outbreak of the Second World War she was converted by Doigs of Grimsby from a fishing vessel into a Royal Navy minesweeper and was operational between 1939 and 1945. The Ocean Lux then returned to her career as a fishing trawler and was renamed Deelux in 1958. She was finally broken up in 1975 at Swansea.
