The gold ground decorated in nashiji, fundame, hiramaki-e and takamaki-e, gyobu, gold and silver heidatsu and tsukegaki with scenes from the Kocho Chapter, Chapter 24, of Genji Monogatari, including harvesting rice, Genji beside a court carriage, a court lady and two ladies within a room, one on a roka, the cover depicts three men on the roka of a palace watching a dragon-headed and a bird-headed boat on a lake and two bird-dancers performing before a camp curtain, the interior of the cover depicting apricot and pine trees growing on a rock beside a lake and cranes, the corners and edges fundame with kiku-karakusa, Koami School
