Signed and annotated 'artist proof'??

Fifty etchings of this model were edited plus a few rare on leather or on vellum, amongst which our Lot. There should only be three etchings on vellum.
One of these etchings was exhibited at the time at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1929 and at the Galerie Georges Petit the same year. More recently, in 2002, the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Poitiers showed one example in vellum, part of their collections

Cette eau-forte a été tirée à cinquante exemplaires numérotés sur papier Japon. Quelques rares tirages ont été réalisés sur cuir mosaïqué à deux couleurs ou sur parchemin dont notre exemplaire. Il n'existe manifestement pas plus de trois exemplaires sur parchemin, dont un conservé au Musée des Beaux-Arts de Poitiers

Un exemplaire de cette eau-forte a été présenté au Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, Paris, 7 mai au 7 juillet 1929 et à la galerie Georges Petit, exposition Dunand Goulden Schmied Jouve, Paris, 13 au 17 décembre 1929
