GREEK (ASIA MINOR), 17TH CENTURY
The two saints on horseback, embracing, holding their spears in a victorious manner, wearing diadems on their heads, dressed in military attire, their long capes floating and forming exaggerated undulating folds, the hand of God emerging in benediction from a radiating segment of sky at the upper right corner, sparse vegetation appearing throughout the hilly ground, executed skillfully, the faces rendered with emphasised features and dark shades, the rest painted with pastel colours, using gold for the cuirass, the ornamentation of the horses and the background, with a raised wooden frame
