Marcelle Mézières (qui deviendra Mme Ledoux-Lebard) était la nièce de Félix Potin, l'un des mécènes de Lebasque. Ce pastel fut exécuté au château de Dammartin-sur-Tigeaux, et offert par l'artiste à Marcelle Mézières alors que celle-ci était en deuil de son oncle.
Marcelle Mézières (who would later become Mrs. Ledoux-Lebard), was the niece of Félix Potin, one of the Lebasque's most supportive patrons. The present pastel was executed at the Mézières family château, Dammartin-sur-Tigeaux, and gifted by the artist to Marcelle during the mourning period following the death of her uncle.
