by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, period of Nicholas II, 1913, masked mark, with later blue overglaze state porcelain factory mark of hammer, sickle and cog, with initials of Elizabeth Rosendorf, dated 1920
Shaped circular, with four irregular white ground reserves painted with fruit, flowers, vegetables and nuts, with gilt details, gilt rim, marked under base

Lot Essay

Elizaveta Bergardovna Rozendorf (1898-1984) studied at the Baron Steigliz School of Design and under Chekhonin, working at the State Porcelain Factory between 1920 and 1921. She also worked for the Ministry of Agriculture. From the early 1920's Rozendorf lived in Estonia and died in Germany.
