Lot Essay

In the main chase sequence of the film, James Bond drives Tiffany's Ford Mustang through the crowded streets of Las Vegas, which culminates in a sensational stunt when Bond makes his escape down a narrow alleyway by tilting the car on its side and driving on two wheels. This sequence was shot in two parts; the entrance to the alleyway was constructed at Universal Studios and the exit on location in Las Vegas; shooting in two locations resulted in a continuity error which meant an insert had to be shot at Pinewood Studio's, which is when the licence plate in this lot was used.
This prop was purchased by the vendor, who worked on the film, post-production.
