Lot Essay

Roger Selchow attended the Grand Central School of Art and Columbia University, both in New York City. After World War II he continued his studies in Paris, Florence and Liège. He worked in a geometrical abstract Parisian style since 1949. The majority of Selchow's works, completed after 1949, are pure geometrical abstractions with constructional overtones.
