Purchased Christies Glasgow, anonymous sale lot 1528, November 27th 1996 (552 GBP)
James Mein, son of Alexander Mein, upholsterer of Edinburgh and Kelso, supplied a group of furniture to the Dukes of Roxburghe for Floors Castle.
The distinctive turned boss is characteristic of James Mein's work.
