Lot Essay
Das Blumenstillleben von Cuno Amiet ist im Jahre 1910 entstanden. Auf einem hölzernen Untergrund steht ein farbiger Blumenstrauss in einer grünlichen Vase, der Form im Allgemeinen und im Speziellen der Henkel nach zu urteilen einer Art Amphore. Auf der rechten Seite der Vase befinden sich weitere Gefässe und Tassen, während links Dokumente und Bücher zu sehen sind. Für den Hintergrund des Bildes benutzte der Maler die Farbe Grün, in verschiedenen Farbwerten. Dabei ist deren Auftrag auf der Leinwand deutlich an der sichtbaren Pinselführung zu sehen.
Das Werk ist im Schweizerischen Institut für Kunstwissenschaft, Zürich, unter der Nr. 37'665 als eigenhändige Arbeit von Cuno Amiet registriert.

On a wooden surface, we see a colourful bouquet in a greenish vase - according to its general form and especially that of its handle - an amphora. To the right of the vase there are further containers and cups, whereas to the left some documents and books are visible. For the background the artist used various colour values of green. Their application on the canvas becomes apparent in the clearly visible brushwork.
The painting is registered as no. 37'665 with the Swiss Institute for Art Research, Zurich, as a genuine work by Cuno Amiet.
