Lot Essay

Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with silvered dial and applied gold numerals in 1945 and its subsequent sale on 12 June 1946.

Reference 565 was available with either subsidiary or sweep centre seconds: the first with calibre 12'''120, such as the present watch, was launched in 1938. Production of the second series featuring a calibre 12 SC movement started in 1942.

Research shows that only a handful of reference 565 models in stainless steel with such two-tone dial are known to date.

The present watch is a beautiful example of this model combining a stainless steel case, a charismatic two-tone silvered dial and a very attractive overall condition.
