A RARE SILVER SOUVENIR TEASPOON FROM R.M.S. TITANIC
the bowl with raised profile depiction of the ship inscribed over R.M.S. TITANIC, the handle terminating with a ship's helm with applied enamel of the White Star Line's swallowtail pennant, the reverse with Birmingham hallmarks for Max Emanuel 1911/12 and further impressed EMANUEL SOUTHAMPTON -- 4¼in. (11cm.) long, contained within a glazed display case for wall mounting -- 9½in. (24cm.) square.
Provenance
Bought by a French passenger from the 2nd Class barber shop between Southampton and Cherbourg where he disembarked. The spoon remained with his family until sold in Paris at the Hôtel Drouot, 15 November, 1998, lot 213.
