Archibald Dunbar McIntosh attended the Glasgow School of Art between 1953-7, following this he became a teacher at the School and its president in 1968. He is a member of the Royal Scottish Society for Painters in Water Colour and was elected vice president in 1995. He has exhibited annually at the Royal Scottish Academy since 1965 and has won numerous institutional awards throughout his career.
McIntosh's canvases, with their distorted perspectives and fanciful motifs, have recieved wide recognition in both Europe and America. He has a large following of private clients and his work can be found in public collections such as the Scottish Arts Council and the Glasgow Art Gallery.
