Dihl founded a factory in 1780 located at the Rue de Bondy, Paris which enjoyed the protection of the Duc d'Angoulême, the later King Charles X (1757 - 1836). The 16th of May 1784 a decree permitted this factory the decoration and gilding of porcelain. Prior to this gilding was forbidden and only the privilege of Sèvres. This service was produced in the years between 1784 and the French Revolution (1789).
