SIGNED PM, FOR PIGUET & MEYLAN, NO. 5269, CIRCA 1820
With gilt-finished cylinder movement, plain three arm balance, musical pin barrel, start/stop lever for the music underneath the blue enamel cuvette, decorated with a fine floral scene, white enamel wreath border, white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute track with Arabic numerals, blued steel serpentine hands, the circular case with seed pearl bezel to the front and back, the finely painted later enamel back depicting a reclining nude lady resting beside the river in a pastoral setting, the band with blue, green and amber enamelled decoration, similarly decorated bow and pendant, the musical mechanism activated by a small lever in the band, movement stamped under the dial PM, case stamped with the number twice, 5269
