Lot Essay

Helen Rose was well known as a Hollywood costume designer, mainly with MGM, from the 1940s through the 1960s. She won Academy Awards in 1952 and 1955, and also designed occasion wear for actors contracted to the studio, such as this example and lots 818 and 886.
