THE GENERAL MEETS HIS GENERALS. A superb gathering of the "high command." Eisenhower sat for this photograph during a luncheon at the Pentagon, hosted by Defense Secretary Wilson. A relaxed and chuckling Eisenhower sits at center, with Defense Secretary Charles E. Wilson to his left, the other civilian Defense Department officials sit along the front row of seats, while the members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff stand behind them.
