NOTE:
Lai Chusheng (1903-1975) was a native of Xiaoshan city in Zhejiang Province. He was renowned for painting flowers and birds. His paintings were famous for their distinctive style, with simple and elegant composition. Lai also excelled in calligraphy. Inspired by cravings from the Qin dynasty and works by Wu Changshuo (1844-1927) and Qi Baishi (1863-1957), Lai developed his unique style in seal carving and calligraphy. Lai was the Vice Director of the Xiling Seal Society.
