NOTE:
Lu Yanshao's artistic view was to give a stimulus to tradition and still create a new form that was different from tradition. He also sought to transform traditional techniques into his own unique painting style. This painting is a succeful illustration of his artistic view. In the painting, the mountains, trees, stones and clouds are expressed through Lu's wonderful painting techniques with a variety of stark contrasts: movements and stillness, softness and solidarity, sparseness and density. The period from 1975 to 1985 formed the peak of Lu's creativity. Painted in 1979 when Lu was 71 years old, this painting is representative of "Lu's Landscapes".
