Born in Jilin, Li Mingjiu graduated from the Arts department at the Harbin Academy of Arts and became renowned for his landscape paintings. He is now professor in the Hebei Normal University's Fine Arts department and is vice-chairman of the Hebei Artists' Association. This is one of Li's paintings from the series depicting the Grand Canal. Using his nature and wonderful brushstrokes, Li fully expresses
