LATE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY, PRINTED AND IMPRESSED MARKS
Comprising: two printed with shoulder-length portraits within green borders of Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy, (1820-1878), a third printed with Maria Teresa Gioanna Guiseppe, Regina di Sardegina, wife of Carlo Alberto, King of Sardinia, (1798-1849) another printed in brown with I Reali d'Italia, depicting Umberto I, King of Italy, (1844-1900) and Margherita, Queen of Italy, (1855-1926) another with a patriotic battle scene showing the Italian flag, a pierced plate with a photographic portrait of Umberto I, King of Italy, a copper soup-plate enamelled with portraits of Vitt. Emanuele II, Manzzini, Garibaldi and Cavour, Ricordo Cinquantenario 1861-1911 within blue borders commemorating the 50th anniversary of Italian unification

Lot Essay

Vittorio Emanuele II, King of Italy, (1820-1878), Camillo Benso, Conte di Cavour, (1810-1861), Guiseppe Garibaldi, (1807-1882) and Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-1872), were all part of the Risorgimento that lead to the unification of Italy in 1861.
