The following five lots are either by or attributed to the Savoia court cabinet-maker, Henry Thomas Peters (d.1852). He established workshops in the former convent of Santa Brigida and advertised in the Gazette di Genoa of December 1836 the arrival of furniture imported from Paris. He received a silver medal at the 1846 Genoa Great Exhibition of National Manufactures and Products. He stamped his furniture 'Peters Maker Genoa'. Peters was employed under the Piedmontese architect Pelagio Pelagi (d.1860) at the Palazzo Reale, Turin and at Castello Reale di Racconigi.

The central scrolled tablet cresting flanked by dolphins above reeded stiles enclosing a brown leather upholstered back and seat on a moulded seat-rail with lappeted ring and spirally turned legs, the front seat- rail stamped 'PETERS MAKER GENOA', also with painted inventory marks 'P.P.R. 4542' and stamped 'P.P.R. 1284', and a Castello Reale di Racconigi inventory label inscribed '1284' and dated 1933
