The brooch with central oval enamel plaque depicting the cross of St. George against a white field with applied diamond initial VR and crown cypher, within a blue enamel legend, Blessed Are The Merciful and green enamel palms, above a pale blue enamel ribbon with the legend, Crimea with diamond triple star surmount, hallmarked London, 1977, in maker's fitted case; together with a silver brooch in the style of the "Nightingale Jewel" and various related ephemera and documentation

Further details
The above brooch is a slightly smaller replica of the 'Nightingale Jewel. The original was presented By Queen Victoria to Florence Nightingale on 29th January, 1856 in recognition of her devotion to duty during the Crimean war. This is now housed in the collections of the National Army Museum, London
