A white enamel dial inscribed in black 'Berian/London' and with Arabic chapters, encircled by clear and red cut-glass beads and set within a frame of carved husks with a bow-tied cresting centered by a portrait medallion of Emperor Joseph II of Austria, mounted on a giltwood case with bead and reel edges and leaf and berry carvings, surmounted by a graduated three-tier umbrella-form laurel leaf finial, with a white paper label inscribed in black ink 'V & A.7', also inscribed in black ink 'K50472 h4. Catole 865 24', the top finial possibly replaced
