NORTH ITALIAN, EARLY 16TH CENTURY
The lid elaborately decorated with a laurel wreath to the centre, flanked by two putti and framed by a frieze of scrolls; the body decorated with cornucopia and flanked by nymphs riding on centaurs to the front and back, the sides with medusa masks and garlands; on four dolphin feet; medium brown patina with lighter high points
3 3/8 x 9 3/8 x 6 3/8 in. (8.5 x 23.8 x 16.1 cm.)
