A parcel-gilt niello tea and coffee service
Moscow, 1870, indistinct maker's mark
Comprising a coffee-pot, tea-pot, two-handled sugar-bowl with hinged covers and baluster finials and bone insulators, milk-jug, two cups and saucers, two tea-spoons, a pair of sugar-tongs, a strainer and a circular tray, each piece with medallions of niello views of Moscow and a pastoral scene within niello scrolling foliate, arabesque and geometric borders, marked under bases, covers, and tray and on handles, in fitted leather box, the cover stamped with a monogram V.P beneath a coronette.
