Lot Essay

It has been noted that the figure appears not to be military but may be a member of a guild dressed in a parade uniform.

The arms on the headband are those of the Druolles de Champagnolles of Normandy, France (see J. B. Rietstap, Armorial Général, vol. I, p. 567.
