Lot Essay

An extraordinary fictional depiction of Jerusalem in classical times with Christ carrying the Cross at the bottom of the subject and the Ascenscion depicted just below the inscription at top. The inhabitants of the City would appear to be in Ottoman dress. This monumental print is apparently unrecorded in literature and of great rarity.
