A FRENCH ETCHED FULL ARMOUR IN EARLY 16TH CENTURY STYLE

Comprising close helmet with pivoted visor and bevor, gorget of four lames front and rear, breast-plate of globose type fitted with a separate flanged lame across the neck and with skirt of four lames, lance-rest, a pair of short tassets of simulated lames, back-plate, full arm defences, a pair of gauntlets, full leg defences including 'bear-paw' sabatons with embossed toe-caps, decorated throughout with etched panels and bands of scrolling foliage and fleur-de-lys, and with matching plain turned edges throughout (the leather straps comprehensively deteriorated, sold without a stand).
