The Sopranos
Tony Soprano
This blue short sleeve button front shirt by Rochester Couture was worn by the character Tony Soprano portrayed by actor James Gandolfini and appeared in the opening credits of HBO's award winning series The Sopranos. There was only one of these shirts used in the production (no other authentic screen worn duplicates are in existence) and the series opening credit sequence was never changed over the entire course of the eleven year eighty six episode run, making this the most immediately identifiable garment Tony wore in the groundbreaking series. Mr. Gandolfini is seen wearing the shirt as his character Tony smokes a cigar and drives on the Jersey turnpike, and then through the city and suburbs until at last arriving at the driveway of the Soprano home as the series title flashes on the screen and the opening theme song comes to an end. Mr. Gandolfini also wore the shirt in the following episodes "46 Long" (Season 1, Episode 2), "Pax Soprana" (Season 1, Episode 6) and "Nobody Knows Anything" (Season 1, Episode 11). The garment is in excellent screen worn condition and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by James Gandolfini.
