The 8 in. (20 cm.) terrestrial globe with twelve coloured paper gores and inscribed GLOBE TERRESTRE/avec le meridien de Paris en noir/et le meridien de Greenwich en bleu/Circonference 0m.72 Echelle 1/55,555,555/Un millimetre pour 10 lieues marines de 5555m./DESSINE PAR PAROQUET/INSTITUTE GEOGRAPHIQUE DE PARIS/CH.DELAGRAVE EDITEUR/15 Rue Soufflot, Paris, the oceans showing warm and cold currents, the Continents showing mountain ranges and with national borders shown, the globe mounted on its axis above a mechanism geared to the clock's going train and above a horizontal glass calendar ring (cracked) with bevelled edge, within a plain gilt-brass meridian circle, the globe manually adjustable from the side, the ormolu case with acanthus leaf mounts and laurel and berry mouldings, relief cast cartouche with laurel leaf, globe and cartographic instruments, the white enamel Roman and Arabic dial signed CH.
