Lot Essay

According to the accompanying document, this guitar was acquired specifically for use on the In The Flesh tour and at the end of the tour was sold on to a member of the band.

Roger Waters began using a Fender Precision Bass in 1968 and after 1970, has rarely been seen using any other model of bass guitar. He first used a black version in 1972 with a white pickguard which was replaced in the late 1970s with a black pickguard. He has used this particular model and colour consistently in recent years. The photograph illustrated shows Waters playing an identical guitar to the one in this lot during the In The Flesh tour in Australia, May, 2002.
