The carrier with three holes inside to take 'kohl-styli', the exterior incised with the hieroglyphs "the good god, Neb-maat-re (Amenophis III)", the base with a notched band and inverted 'V', the interior of the slightly hollowed out base containing traces of resin and bronze(?)
7½ in. (18.5 cm.) long

Pusey House, Oxford; acquired from a donor in the early 20th Century (see lot 55).
