Dent 2034 was made for expeditions but is also able to run slave clocks. In keeping with its purpose the case is notably robustly made; the movement is supported by a massive iron backplate.

The case with detachable front panel to the trunk, the latter with door opening to a glazed panel, the 11 in. (28 cm.) diameter silvered and engraved dial of regulator format and signed 'E. DENT & CO. LONDON/61 STRAND & 34 ROYAL EXCHANGE 2034', blued steel hands, the movement secured to a massive cast-iron bracket, the plates secured with four pillars, wheels with five crossings, maintaining power, Vulliamy-type deadbeat escapement positioned on the back plate and with jewelled pallets, the back plate mounted with electrical contacts with precision adjustment, signed 'E. Dent & Co./61 Strand/LONDON/2034', the bottom edge of the plate also punched '129'; the Buckney-type mercury pendulum suspended from the iron bracket, with calibrated regulation nut, beat scale on the backboard; brass weight, crank key
