A RUSSIAN SILVER-GILT AND CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL CASKET
MARK OF PAVEL OVCHINNIKOV, MOSCOW, PROBABLY 1890
Rectangular with rounded corners on four ball and claw feet, the cover with six-petal flower within turquoise bead bezel, flanked by foliate scrollwork in orange, pink, white, green, mauve and three shades of blue, bordered by a band of stiff-leaf motifs, the sides with similarly coloured band of scrolling flowers edged with alternate green and turquoise tongue motifs, the polychrome side handles modelled as hens, gilt interior
2 in. (5.2 cm.) high; 4 5/8 in (11.7 cm.) long handle-to-handle
