Sold with a certificate from Mrs. Claude Holstein-Manguin, dated Villeneuve, le 24 mars 2006. The authenticity of this work has kindly been confirmed by Mr. Jean-Pierre Manguin.

It is possible that this is a preparatory sketch for the work of the same title: L. & C. Manguin, Henri Manguin: catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre peint, Neuchâtel, Editions Ides et Calendes, 1980, no.113 (illustrated p.74).
