Gandhara, 3rd century
Carved with a man riding a lion-headed sea monster at center, the border with a vine motif and the reverse incised with a large flowerhead; the reliquary carved with a lotus pattern surmounted by a two-tiered knop
4¼ in. (11 cm.) diameter, the tray; 1¾ in. (4½ cm.) high, the stupa (2)
