TWO QAJAR OPENWORK PIERCED STEEL BELT BUCKLES, IRAN, 19TH CENTURY
One of slightly convex rectangular form, pierced with central inscription within a border of further inscription from Qur'an LXVIII the sura al-Qalam, verses 51 and 52 - 4in (10.2cm) wide; and another with Qur'an CX11 sura al-Ikhlas, verses 1-4, and inscription naming the patron Mirza Abd-al Ahmed and dated 1311AH/1893AD - 3 1/2in (9cm) wide (2)
