Château Cheval-Blanc--Vintage 1982

1 dozen bottles per lot
Details
Dear Client,

Welcome to our second sale of the Fall 2009 season. After the success of our September sale, we're back with even more wonderful wines for your bidding pleasure.

This sale kicks off with a large consignment of Bordeaux (lots 1-71) from both banks, almost all in full case lots in original wooden cases. The vintages are standouts: the '82s, the '88s, the '90s, the '95s and 96s are all there. The conditions of these wines, as you'll see in the catalogue, are as perfect as you could hope for. Ending this consignment are a few top wines from outside of Bordeaux: '90 Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin and the '81 Grange.

Following that consignment, a range of nice things are on offer, from the not-oft-seen '00 Ghost Horse double magnum, to young Screaming Eagle in original wood, to older DRC from '69 and the '72 vintage.

The collections from lots 78-109 and 110-217 speak for themselves. These lots represent old and rare Bordeaux and Burgundy at its finest. Many large formats, all extremely rare and many intellectually fascinating and rarely seen at auction, like the 1923 La Tâche Cuvée Liger-Belair (lot 115).

Rounding out the sale towards the end (lots 280-318) is another collection of older Bordeaux from a famous American family, including an impériale of '59 Lafite (lot 287) and, finally, a consignment of young Burgundy from smaller producers such as Moine-Hudelot, Rapet, and Ampeau. This offering from one of America's great Burgundy experts, D.C. Flynt MW, offers great wine for drinking now or cellaring for future enjoyment.

Enjoy this catalog, and happy bidding!

Sincerely,

Charles Curtis, MW
Head of North American Wine Sales

PROPERTY OF A MID-ATLANTIC CONNOISSEUR
The following wines were consigned by a passionate and dedicated connoisseur from the mid-Atlantic region. Documentation demonstrates that all of the wines were purchased upon release from the same very reputable retail source. Storage from the date of delivery was assured in a purpose-built home cellar of the finest standard, with commercial-grade refrigeration, humidity control, and independent gas generator back-up. The fill levels in the bottles of this collection are extraordinary, and the bottles tasted during the cellar pack up were without exception among the finest examples of these wines that I have had in many years. It is not an exaggeration to say that these wines are without blemish of any sort, and will satisfy even the most demanding collectors.
