2 volumes, 8o (171 x 110 mm). Half-titles. Original publisher's slate-blue cloth, covers decorated in blind, spine gilt-lettered (spines lightly sunned, corners lightly bumped, hinges weak with rear hinge of volume 2 repaired); maroon quarter leather folding case.

Second edition, but the first to include the celebrated "Sonnets from the Portuguese," which had been printed originally at Reading in 1847 for private circulation only.
