Of rectangular shape set on a scalloped plinth and decorated on the exterior with the classic Eight Views of Omi (Lake Biwa), the moon over Ishiyamadera Temple on the top, the moon of inlaid silver; the surfaces lacquered in various techniques, including gold takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and togidashi with embellishments of black lacquer, kirigane, nashiji and hirame; the interiors of the hinged doors continuing the scenes and the faces of the three drawers with waves and floral latticework, the interiors nashiji; the mounts silver engraved with scrolling foliage
