Details
ROMANEE SAINT VIVANT
Initially cultivated by the monks at the monastery of Saint-Vivant de Vergy the vineyards were confiscated during the Revolution and subsequently sold to the Marey-Monge family. In 1966 Geneviève Marey-Monge leased her part of this grand cru to the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and the wine was marketed under the label Domaine Marey-Monge with a DRC neck label. In 1988 the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti became owners of the Marey-Monge domaine and the name briefly disappeared from the label to return again in 1993 as a tribute to the importance of the family. Le Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, 2005, Gert Crum.
