Arabic manuscript on paper, the sura al-fath written in the shape of the invocation Ya Fattah, the dots formed from the names of Allah and short prayers, the red script identifying the calligrapher as a student of Mehmed Nuri and an officer in the Imperial army, with gold floral spray either side and outer blue margins with roccoco style decoration, glazed and framed - panel 12 x 7in (30.5 x 17.8cm)
