The Armenian born sculptor Haig Patigian (1876-1950) worked mostly in San Francisco where his bronze of Lincoln sits outside city hall. His statue of President William McKinley is in Arcata, California, and other works are preserved in the Oakland Museum. Patigian was a member of the city's prominant Bohemian Club, a meeting of journalists, artists and musicians, and designed set-pieces for their annual theatrical production The Cremation of Care.
