Rectangular tortoiseshell box with waisted sides, the cover centred by a rectangular gold plaque chased with scrolling foliage rosette on a sablé ground, the gold border similarly chased, slightly raised incorporated thumbpiece chased with shell and scroll motifs, the cover with secret compartment opening to reveal a glazed erotic watercolour on ivory miniature depicting a nude couple in front of a table with wine, arched window and landscape background
