Lot Essay

The addition of a Maori warrior in conjunction with British soldiers and sailors in uniform of around 1860 would suggest the carver had experience of the Maori people indicating a New Zealand origin. The provenance of the lot is unknown but has been passed down generations of the same New Zealand family.
