Lot Essay

Haluk Akakce's work explores the relation between man and technology, depicting abstract figures and dream-like landscapes where architecture, geometry and human kind coexist.
The titles of his painting create an imaginary narrative, such as the present work, entitled Last Night I Met a Costume. Akakce depicts his the abstract mutant creations of his dreams, referencing Celtic and Islamic architecture, depicting abstract landscapes in way which is almost pseudo-calligraphic.
