'Writing about a piece of my work is difficult for me, especially when looked at it in isolation from the collection of works it belongs to.
I created this piece (Adaptation) alongside a few others in 2009, collectively entitled "Illusion in Tehran".
A year earlier I had created the "In Search of Illusion" series, which showed veiled girls with specifc objects positioned above them; illusionary reflections of existing social conditions and inspired by images revisting my mind from old memories. In "Illusion in Tehran" I brought the girl to the city of Tehran, a city full of stress, which I live in and love.' Alireza Fani
